When I created 2-Minute Design, I had only one thing in mind: provide people valuable design answers through engaging 2-minute videos. For free.

One of the subjects that I tackle the most is Adobe Photoshop.

Photoshop has been one of my favourite design tools since I discovered it 13 years ago.

Here’s why:

You have an amazing idea. That’s great. But ideas remain ideas if you don’t translate them into beautiful visuals. Your creativity deserves to be visualized, doesn’t it?

This is where Photoshop can help. This piece of software will help you SEE your ideas, not just think of them. Once you learn it, you will have skills that benefit you forever. You won’t be asking for anyone’s help, because you can do it on your own. People will pay you to visualize their ideas as well. You’re the “Photoshop expert” now, aren’t you?

Maybe not yet. But if you’re a 2-Minute Design-er, you’re already ahead of most people. I will keep sharing new stuff with you: new videos, new techniques and new tools to boost your Photoshop skills.

One of the most recent tools I have created is a free downloadable PDF called Most Common Photoshop Shortcuts. It contains the keyboard shortcuts that I use all the time when working on my projects. Subscribe now by entering your name and email address below I will send it to you in no time!

BUT…

I have a confession to make…

I sucked at Photoshop.

Yes, I did. You don’t believe me? Well, here’s the proof. Back in 2004, I had just discovered Photoshop (called Photoshop CS) and started trying out all the tools and features that I can find. I had no internet, no tutorials, no instructors, nothing.

I had no idea how to use anything, but I insisted to try to learn something and create cool stuff. What was cool then, however, is not at all cool now. Below is one of the first “things” that I “created” in Photoshop:

I sucked at Photoshop

Masterpiece!

I remember looking at it and thinking: “Wow! This is really awesome! Let me show it to my family and friends!”

I also remember how people would react to my “creations”: “oh… that’s… nice.”

It didn’t matter. I had zero Photoshop skills, so anything I managed to create was a big step forward.

So I kept learning, trying, creating, and enjoying my creations. Finally, we got internet, but it was so expensive that we were allowed to go online for 10 hours per YEAR on a super slow dial-up access. So the idea of watching tutorials online never even came to my mind.

Years passed, our internet connection became faster, and I started watching online Photoshop courses, tips and tricks videos, and step-by-step tutorials. I’d spend days and nights watching these while taking detailed notes and countless screenshots. Some of the videos were good, but others were too long, too boring, or too hard to follow. Many times I found myself staring at the screen without really grasping anything. This was extremely exhausting and frustrating.

But I ended up learning a lot! When I went to university to major in Graphic Design, I already knew 90% of the Photoshop material I was going to learn.

Fast-forward to today: I am better than ever. I can open Photoshop and work with my eyes closed (not really).

But there is something that is even more valuable, and I have been preparing it for a year. I’ve created a solution that will help you go from this:

If you’re reading this, you know that when I got started using Photoshop, all I needed was one thing: a well-made course that could teach me how to create my visuals from scratch.

Well, I am thrilled to announce that I have created this course myself. Introducing:

Learn Photoshop From Scratch

This course is now open, and you can
check it out by clicking here.

Remember: ideas will remain ideas unless you translate them into creative visuals. And this course will teach you exactly how to do that.

If you consider yourself a beginner, and you want to be able to create beautiful visuals, then don’t waste your time and money reading and watching irrelevant material. This is the course you need.

The course follows an optimized 2-part structure:

In part 1 – called “Learn” – you’re going to learn all about the most used Photoshop tools and features. We will focus on most of the tools in the Tools Panel and learn about each one individually. We’ll also tackle other important Photoshop features and get the necessary technical information that will help us produce beautiful graphics.

In part 2 – called “Create” – you will start creating your own visuals. You’ll be able to follow along, download the assets I’m using, and create your own personalized artwork. I will teach you how to achieve different visual outcomes by using and combining a variety of interesting Photoshop features. We’re going to work with colour adjustments, effects, typography, photography and layout, all in order to visualize our creative ideas.

This is not a course that you take, watch and then throw away, because I will be updating it constantly. So from time to time, I will add more valuable content to this course. If there is a new tool or feature for example, I will add it to part 1, talk about it and teach you how to use it properly. Also, I will create additional projects, add them to part 2, and teach you how to create them from scratch.

When you enroll, this is what you get:

  • You will be able to create awesome visuals from scratch, even if you’re a complete beginner.
  • You will learn the required technical information about color, layers, masks, effects, text, etc…
  • You will learn how to manipulate and edit a given image.
